Legal Aspects of Conservation Easements: A Primer for Transportation Agencies
White & Smith, LLC, responded to and was awarded the project through a Request for Proposals to address the National Cooperative Highway Research Program’s specific study topic, Conservation Easement, which have become an increasingly popular and useful mechanism to transfer and protect interests in real property. White & Smith contracted Tara D. Allden from Biocenosis to draft the Primer which provides an introduction and general overview of key conservation easement topics, from their origin in common law to key concepts in creation and termination.
